How does a custom activewear order move from idea to bulk production?
From Concept to Cargo: A Structured Six-Stage Process
A custom activewear project normally begins with a product brief, reference images, Tech Pack, target quantity, fabric requirements, branding details, and delivery destination. Each stage below moves the product closer to a shippable order while reducing the risk of production errors.
Product Development & Quotation
The manufacturer reviews the design, confirms technical feasibility, recommends suitable fabrics and construction methods, and prepares an initial quotation. After development terms are agreed, the project moves to sampling.
Sample Development
A sample is produced for fit, appearance, stretch, workmanship, and performance evaluation. One or more revisions may be needed. Typical sampling takes approximately 7–15 days at Call The STYLE, depending on fabric availability and construction complexity.
Pre-Production Approval
Before production begins, the brand confirms the final pre-production sample (PPS), bulk fabric, colors, measurements, size breakdown, logos, labels, packaging, and quality requirements. Production does not start until critical details are approved in writing.
Bulk Production
Production includes material inspection, cutting, sewing, inline quality checks, finishing, measurement control, and final packing. Typical bulk production takes approximately 25–30 days after all approvals and production conditions are confirmed.
Quality Inspection
Before shipment, the order is inspected according to the agreed quality plan, packing requirements, shipping terms, and customs-document needs. This may include AQL sampling, 100% visual inspection, and sample-based lab testing depending on the agreed specification.
Shipping & Delivery
Goods are packed to the confirmed carton assortment and shipped per the agreed Incoterm and destination requirements. Supporting documents—commercial invoice, packing list, and product details—are prepared for customs clearance.
