Call The STYLE Live at the 140th Canton Fair: Activewear Buyer Meetings

Nov 2,2026
Published: November 2, 2026  |  Live Company News

Call The STYLE is currently at Phase 3 of the 140th Canton Fair in Guangzhou, meeting activewear and sportswear buyers at Area A, Hall 6.1, Booth K03 & K04.

The useful part of a trade-show meeting is not simply seeing more garments on racks. Buyers can handle a sample, compare fabrics and construction, point to the details they want changed, and turn a general sourcing conversation into a much clearer product-development brief.

Our team is now on site, so this page is a live exhibition update rather than another pre-show invitation.

The 140th Canton Fair Phase 3 is being held from October 31 to November 4, 2026. The official Phase 3 categories include Sports & Casual Wear, Men and Women's Clothing, Underwear, Textile Raw Materials & Fabrics, shoes, bags and other apparel-related categories.

Hall 6.1 in Area A is part of the official Sports & Casual Wear exhibition section, which makes the location particularly relevant for sportswear brands, private-label buyers and apparel sourcing teams.

1.55M m² Overall exhibition area reported by the official Canton Fair organizer.
≈32,000 Exhibitors reported across the fair by the organizer.
Why these numbers matter—and why they do not tell the whole story: the Canton Fair is large, but scale alone does not help a buyer choose an activewear supplier. What matters at booth level is whether a supplier can answer specific questions about the garment in front of you and explain what needs to happen before that product can move into sampling and production.

What Buyers Are Reviewing at Our Activewear Booth

The samples displayed at the booth are conversation starters rather than fixed products that a brand must copy exactly.

A buyer may start with one physical garment and ask:

  • Can this be made in a heavier or lighter fabric?
  • Can the neckline, waistband or garment length be changed?
  • Can we develop the style in our own Pantone color?
  • Can the fit be adjusted for our target customer?
  • Can the logo position or application method be changed?
  • Can we add our own labels, hangtags and packaging?
  • Does this need a new pattern, or can it start from an existing base?
  • What information is needed before the first sample?

Those questions are more useful than simply asking for a catalogue price because each change can affect material sourcing, pattern development, sampling and production.

Reviewing a physical garment face to face makes it easier to discuss fabric, construction, proportions and customization requirements before sampling begins.

From “I Like This Style” to a Useful Product Brief

A useful sourcing conversation becomes more specific as soon as the buyer explains what must stay and what can change.

For example:

More useful than “Make this style for us”:

Keep the square neckline and fitted silhouette. We want a softer matte nylon-spandex fabric, a slightly longer body, our own color, and a heat-transfer logo at the center back. Please advise whether the current pattern can be adjusted or whether a new pattern is more appropriate.

That gives the product-development team much more to work with.

What the Buyer Can Bring What It Helps Confirm
Tech Pack Measurements, construction, BOM, artwork, labels and details already fixed by the brand.
Reference Garment Fit, handfeel, proportion, construction and product features that are easier to discuss physically.
Sketch or Reference Images Design direction when the product has not yet reached a full technical-document stage.
Fabric Reference Target composition, GSM, stretch, recovery, surface feel and performance direction.
Color Reference Pantone, physical swatch or other approved color direction.
Logo Files Logo size, placement and possible application method.
Target Quantity Helps determine the practical sourcing and production route.
Launch Window Provides context for sampling, approvals, production and shipping planning.

What Product Directions Can Buyers Review at the Booth?

Our current display includes different activewear and sportswear directions so buyers can compare silhouettes and construction details in person.

Yoga & Training Sports bras, fitted tops, shorts, leggings and coordinated performance sets can be used as starting points for fabric, fit and design discussions.
Tennis & Court Wear Skirts, skorts, tops, dresses and coordinated court-wear concepts can be reviewed around movement, coverage, pockets and styling.
Active Lifestyle Casual performance pieces can bridge training, travel and everyday athleisure use.
Private Label Development Existing product directions can be adapted with brand-specific colors, logos, labels, trims and packaging where technically appropriate.

Face-to-Face Meetings Help Clarify the Details That Email Often Misses

Email is efficient when every specification is already clear.

Early-stage apparel development is different.

A physical meeting lets both sides:

  • touch and stretch the fabric;
  • compare two constructions side by side;
  • look closely at seam placement;
  • compare garment proportions;
  • point directly to a detail that needs changing;
  • compare several colors or fabrics at the same time;
  • and identify which questions still need technical confirmation after the show.

That does not mean every production decision should be approved verbally at a booth.

The purpose of the meeting is to make the next written development step clearer.

Detailed booth meetings can move beyond an introduction and into practical discussions about sampling, fabrics, branding and production requirements.

What Happens After a Canton Fair Product Discussion?

A good trade-show meeting should end with a clearer next step, not just an exchange of business cards.

1
Product Brief Identify the product type, target fit, important design features and what is already fixed.
2
Fabric & Trim Direction Confirm composition, GSM, handfeel, stretch, color, trims and open sourcing questions.
3
Tech Pack / Development Review Separate confirmed specifications from details that still require factory development.
4
Sample Development Turn the product brief into a physical sample that can be measured, fitted and reviewed.
5
Fit & Revision Record comments, revise the sample and close open issues before bulk approval.
6
Pre-Production Approval Lock the approved fabric, measurements, construction, branding, trims and packaging.
7
Bulk Production & Quality Control Manufacture against the approved standard and verify the agreed quality requirements during production and before shipment.

Sample Approval Matters More Than the Trade-Show Sample

A garment displayed at an exhibition can help communicate style, fabric and construction direction, but it should not automatically become the production standard for a buyer's custom order.

Once a product is customized, the brand should still approve the actual development sample against the agreed:

  • measurements;
  • fit;
  • fabric;
  • color;
  • construction;
  • branding;
  • trims;
  • labels;
  • and packaging requirements.

Quality Questions Are Worth Asking Before the Order

Buyers visiting an apparel fair often spend a lot of time comparing fabrics, design and price. Quality control is also worth discussing before the order reaches production.

Useful questions include:

  • Which sample will control bulk production?
  • How are garment measurements checked?
  • How are inline issues recorded and corrected?
  • How are color and material approvals transferred into bulk?
  • Which workmanship defects are classified as critical, major or minor?
  • Which inspection plan will apply before shipment?
  • How are labels, barcodes and packing requirements verified?

Why Phase 3 Matters for Activewear and Sportswear Buyers

The official Canton Fair exhibition schedule places Sports & Casual Wear in Phase 3 alongside other apparel-related sections such as men's and women's clothing, underwear, textile raw materials and fabrics, shoes and fashion accessories.

The official floor plan also lists Hall 6.1 in Area A within the Sports & Casual Wear section.

For a brand planning an apparel sourcing trip, that means several relevant parts of the supply chain can be reviewed during the same phase rather than treating garments, fabrics and related products as completely separate sourcing exercises.

Official Phase 3 dates: October 31 – November 4, 2026.
Official daily business hours: 9:30–18:00.

Already Have a Project? Bring the Questions That Matter

You do not need to arrive with a finished production package just to start a useful conversation.

If your collection is still early, bring what you have:

  • Tech Pack or draft specification
  • Sketches
  • Reference photos
  • Physical sample
  • Target fabric
  • Preferred color
  • Logo file
  • Estimated quantity
  • Size range
  • Target market
  • Launch or delivery timing

The useful outcome is identifying which points are already production-ready and which still need development.
